ATIR to hear tax matter filed by M/s Pakistan Oil Fields today

ISLAMABAD: The Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) will hear a tax matter filed by M/s Pakistan Oil Fields on Tuesday (today).

ATIR Account Member Dr Ghulam Mujtaba Bhatti would hear the case. M/s Pakistan Oil Fields had challenged a decision announced by Regional Tax Office of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) before the tribunal.

According to details, M/s Pakistan Oil Fields had challenged a recovery notice issued to it under the head of outstanding income tax by the RTO, Islamabad.

This case, filed by M/s Pakistan Oil Fields, was heard by the bench for the first time and adjourned. The bench was hearing a matter remanded back to tribunal by the Islamabad High Court with directions to decide fate of the matter lawfully. The appellant had challenged the earlier announcement by the tribunal terming that clauses of income tax were ignored.

It had prayed the court to ensure an announcement according to the law. Following which the court had remanded back the case to the tribunal.

M/s Pakistan Oil Fields had contested show cause notice issued by the field offices of Federal Board of Revenue.
