Attendance 92pc, availability of facilities 96pc, enrolment to be ensured by 2018: Mujtaba

LAHORE – Enrolment of every child in school will be ensured by 2018 while 92 percent attendance of students and teachers has been ensured in schools and available facilities and schools inspection has been achieved up to 96 percent per month, said Punjab Minister for Finance Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman.

He said the required funds will be provided for the success of the educational reforms programme. He claimed that 92 percent attendance of students and teachers has been ensured in schools Under the Punjab Schools Reforms Roadmap, while available facilities and schools inspection has been achieved up to 96 percent per month. Earlier, this ratio was 60 percent and 62 percent, respectively.

He said British educationist Sir Michael Barbar has appreciated educational reforms of the Punjab government. He added the Punjab government considered promotion of education as a source of development and record funds have been provided for schools and higher education. Cooperation and grants are also provided to educational institutions for the promotion of fine arts and other extracurricular activities in universities, he added.
