Audi Hungaria’s engine output exceeds 1 million in H1

BUDAPEST: The Hungarian unit of German carmaker Audi turned out 1,067,525 engines at its plant in Győr, northwestern Hungary, in the first half of the year, practically level with the number produced in the same period a year earlier, data released by Audi Hungaria Motor reveal, according to a report by Hungarian news agency MTI today.

In the first half, the factory manufactured approximately 816,965 four- and five-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, 227,952 six-cylinder and 22,608 eight- and ten-cylinder engines, which were delivered to more than 30 Volkswagen group bases, according to the report. The report says that the plant turned out a total of 84,888 cars, which constitutes a 27% year-on-year rise in the first half. Among the models were 45,578 A3 Saloons, 12,253 A3 Cabriolets, 14,353 Audi TT Coupes and 4,582 TT Roadsters.
