Auditor General apprises Dar about action plan

ISLAMABAD: Auditor General of Pakistan, Rana Assad Amin paid a courtesy call on Finance Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar here.

Rana Assad apprised the minister about the plan of action that he had initiated to revamp the office of the Auditor General and revive the confidence of the officers to perform their duties with dedication. He said it was his resolve to turn the AGP office into an entity which would ensure transparency and accountability in the financial matters of all the government bodies in the true spirit of its manifesto.

Dar appreciated the initiatives that the Auditor General was taking for effective working of the AGP’s office. The minister also on this occasion discussed the matter regarding proposed separation of Audit and Accounts groups. He said decision in this regard needed to be taken in consultation with the Auditor General. He also appreciated the efforts of the Auditor General for clearing the gap of submission of Audit Reports and their consideration by the PAC.
