CANBERRA: Imports of the illicit drug ice are higher than last year, a Senate committee has been told.
So far this financial year, 2.9 tonnes of crystal methamphetamine have found their way into Australia, compared with 1.8 tonnes in the entire previous year, Customs chief Roman Quaedvlieg said on Monday.
