MELBOURNE: Six people some with alleged links to the Comancheros outlaw motorcycle gang – have been arrested following this morning’s operation.
Another man was arrested on separate matters.
Detectives executed warrants at four properties in Narre Warren South, Springvale and Box Hill.
Detective Acting Sen-Sgt Dean Hayes, of Greater Dandenong CIU, said 11 firearms were seized in all including hand guns, rifles and a machine gun.
Amphetamines and cannabis were also allegedly found along with a small hydroponic set up.
“We’re very pleased with what we’ve seized today,” Sen-Sgt Hayes said.
“It’s certainly pleasing for us and the public in regards to getting those guns off the street.”
Three women and three men were arrested in relation to the operation.
“There’s further inquiries in regards to what was located today as they have links to the OMCG Comancheros and we’re following those up.
Two women, aged 49 and 20, were arrested at the Narre Warren South house in Padstow Court where nine firearms including the machine gun were allegedly found.
Two men, aged 46 and 24, and a woman, 22, were arrested at an apartment in Springvale’s Buckingham Ave.
A 29-year-old was arrested at a tattoo parlour in the same suburb on Springvale Rd.A firearm was allegedly found at both premises.
A man, 46, was also arrested at a home in Box Hill over separate matters after being caught up in this morning’s operation.
Two women have this afternoon been released from Dandenong police station in addition to the one person released earlier.
