Australia to assist Tevta for promotion of technical education

LAHORE: Australia will provide technical assistance to Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) for the promotion of technical education and vocational training system across Punjab,  according to a press release.

TEVTA Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Shaikh while addressing the officers at TEVTA Secretariat here on Monday claimed that Australian High Commissioner Mr Peter Heyward, in a meeting at his Embassy office, pledged to support technical assistance to TEVTA Punjab. Chief Operating Officer Jawad Ahmed Qureshi and other Officers were also present at this occasion. Irfan Qaiser said Australia would collaborate to enhance technical skills and upgrade the standard of curricula to meet the challenges of local and international market. The foreign collaboration would also be fruitful to offer latest technical training infrastructure in TEVTA Institutes to get desired and fruitful results. The TEVTA chief also said that Australian High Commissioner was gratified to the successful launch of dual training programme under the title of GPATI as pilot project in two institutes.
