Australian dollar higher against major currencies

SYDNEY: The Australian dollar strengthened against the other major currencies in the Asian session on Friday.

The Australian dollar rose to 2-day highs of 1.4554 against the euro and 1.037 against the NZ dollar, from yesterday’s closing quotes of 1.4634 and 1.0346, respectively.

The aussie edged up to 92.88 against the yen, from yesterday’s closing value of 92.38.

Against the U.S. and the Canadian dollar, the aussie edged up to 0.7811 and 0.9749 from yesterday’s closing quotes of 0.7789 and 0.9721, respectively.

If the aussie extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 1.44 against the euro, 1.04 against the kiwi, 95.93 against the yen, 0.80 against the greenback and 0.98 against the loonie.
