Australian dollar stronger against major currencies in Asian trade

PERTH: The Australian dollar strengthened against the other major currencies in the Asian session on Tuesday.

The Australian dollar rose to a 5-day high of 95.30 against the yen and a 4-day high of 0.9564 against the Canadian dollar, from yesterday’s closing quotes of 94.88 and 0.9517, respectively.

The aussie advanced to 1.4306 against the euro, from yesterday’s closing value of 1.4363.

Against the U.S. and the New Zealand dollars, the aussie edged up to 0.7636 and 1.0738 from yesterday’s closing quotes of 0.7605 and 1.0709, respectively.

If the aussie extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 97.50 against the yen, 0.98 against the loonie, 1.38 against the euro, 0.79 against the greenback and 1.09 against the kiwi.
