PERTH: The Australian dollar is higher following some disappointing US jobs data and a solid start to the week for the local share market.
At 12.00pm (AEST) on Monday, the currency was trading at US74.04c, up from US73.78c on Friday.
There were 215,000 jobs added to the US economy in July, which was below expectations of a 229,000 gain, easing hopes of a US interest rate rise in September.
