CANBERRA: The Australian share market has closed almost two per cent higher, with energy and mining stocks leading the charge on the back of a weaker US dollar.
At today’s close, the benchmark SP/ASX200 index was 98.5 points, or 1.95 per cent, higher at 5,150.5, while the broader All Ordinaries index was up 94.9 points, or 1.86 per cent, at 5,184.1.
On the ASX 24, the December share price index futures contract was 101 points higher at 5,132, with 21,923 contracts traded.
