PERTH: The Australian share market has closed one per cent lower, suffering substantial losses after four straight sessions of gains.
At the close on Monday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was 56.6 points, or 1.08 per cent, lower at 5,207, while the broader All Ordinaries index was down 52.6 points, or 1.0 per cent, at 5,222.1.
On the ASX 24, the September share price index futures contract was 59 points lower at 5,178, with 36,282 contracts traded.
