ISLAMABAD: The auto production in the country decreased by 3.87 per cent to 12,491 units in July, 2016 against the production of 12,994 units during same month of previous year.
According to latest data released by Pakistan Automotive Manufacturing Association (PAMA), Honda Cars (Civic and City) production in the country increased from 1840 units in July, 2015 to 1955 units in July, 2016. The details show that the production of Suzuki Swift also increased by 18.4 per cent to 294 units in July this year from 240 units last year.
The production of Toyota Corolla cars however witnessed a declining trend as it went down from 3,906 units to 3,769 units in July, 2016. As many as 1,205 Suzuki Cultus cars were produced in July this year as against 1,057 units last year while production of Suzuki Wagon R witnessed a sharp increase of 138 per cent during the period under review.
According to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources, the licences would help improve supply and distribution of LPG as well as create job opportunities in the sector.
