Meeting held at RTO-III to create awareness about tax amnesty scheme

KARACHI: On the orders of the Chief Commissioner-IR, the representatives of the trade associations at Haroon Center were invited to a meeting at RTO-III to create awareness among non-filers about the tax amnesty scheme.

The meeting was chaired by Commissioner Hyder Ali Dharejo. Additional Commissioner Maqsood Jahngir, Inland Revenue Officer Noor Muhammad Baloch, Patran Chairman of the Haroon Emporium Welfare Association Muhammad Javed, President Muhammad Mateen, General Secretary Qamaruddin, member Shamshad Ali Siddique and others attended the meeting.
The meeting was initiated by the Commissioner with routine salutation and introduction of his team members. The representatives of the association were warmly welcomed and appreciated for their pro active and positive attitude.
After explaining salient features of the Scheme by the Commissioner, Maqsood Jahngir – the Additional Commissioner, was invited to explain the details, focus and the benefits of filing options of the Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme 2016.
The Additional Commissioner also explained the reasons, objectives, features and benefits of the Scheme, to the satisfaction of the participants.
The Representative of the Association took keen interest in understanding the features and raised various queries and objections which were politely and candidly elaborated to them to their satisfaction. It was also mutually agreed that the meeting will be followed by a comprehensive meeting in the area very soon where the members of the association will be addressed and informed accordingly.
The association members took the initiative to spread the words across the board and cooperate in spreading the campaign of FBR. They were also handed over brochures and hand outs to be delivered to more than 300 members.
