Azerbaijan customs terms allegations about Russian blogger baseless

BAKU: The State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan has commented on reports of a Russian blogger having been prevented from entering the country, the committee’s press service told APA.

“On August 25, headlines surfaced on a number of websites and social network that “Famous Russian blogger kept out of Azerbaijan”.The State Customs Committee officially states that a BMW with license plate number o165HO777 driven by Russian citizen Erik Kituashvili, who came from the Russian Federation to Azerbaijan passing through Georgia, was checked at the Siniq Korpu checkpoint of the Tovuz customs office.

Prior to that, Kituashvili presented filming equipment which was carrying in the car to the customs checking. He was asked to present certain documents for some of the items he had brought with him. Kituashvili was told that his items had to be taken from him temporarily until necessary documents are presented but he chose to go back.

Erik Kutiashvili was explained certain requirements of the law at the Siniq Korpu checkpoint of the Tovuz customs office and he signed a relevant act without any objections.
