BAKU: Azerbaijan will set restrictions next week on food, alcoholic drinks and cigarette imported without customs duties.
This is according to the Cabinet of Ministers’ decision dated 8 July 2016 on amendments to the preferential and simplified rules for goods crossed from customs checkpoints by individuals for non-production and non-commerce purposes, APA reported.
The decision will enter into force on Aug.8. Until now, goods worth more than 1,500 US dollars used to be let in from customs checkpoints on a preferential basis. After the latest amendment, goods worth up to 1,500 US dollars will be let in from customs checkpoints without customs duties once a month. There are no restrictions on personal items carried during visits.
Restrictions will also apply to amounts sturgeon and its caviar, alcoholic drinks, cigarettes, and other food products.
