PESHAWAR: Bacha Khan International Airport (BKIA) has announced to restart its operations at night, which was suspended due to security concerns.
According to Civil Aviation Authority officials, permission is likely to be granted soon, adding that the matter had been pursued by local airlines rather than international carriers.
The officials said that the permission would be given after security clearance. Moreover, the national carrier will not begin night operations even if private airlines decide to do so, they added.
On the other side, CAA Spokesperson Parvez George said that night operations had not been suspended. On the contrary, airlines had been asked to carry out operations during the day for the safety of passengers hailing from rural areas.
