Bahawalpur traders asked to get maximum benefits of tax amnesty scheme

BAHAWALPUR: The Regional Tax Office has arranged a seminar to create awareness and understanding of Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme (VTCS) among the traders and business community.

Chief Commissioner Ghazanfar Hussain along with Commissioner (Zone-I) Rajabuddin, Additional Commissioner Ghulam Sarwar Shah, Additional Commissioner Abdul Sattar, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Akhtar Suraj and other officers participated in the seminar.

All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajran Pakistan Patron-in-Chief Khawaja Muhammad Shafique, Muttahida Anjuman-e-Tajran Bahawalpur President Tariq Abbasi, Anjuman-e-Tajran Bahawalpur City President Hafiz Muhammad Younis, presidents of all Tehsils of Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar along with a large number of traders attended the seminar.

Focal person for VTCS Ghulam Sarwar Shah elaborated the salient features and benefits of the scheme to the traders.

Chief Commissioner Ghazanfar Hussain, in his address, explained that the scheme is not for the collection of tax only but it is to resolve the problems of the new businessmen and to boost the economy of Pakistan.

Khawaja Muhammad Shafique asked the traders to get maximum benefit of this scheme as it has been got approved from the government after a lengthy process of almost six-month dialogues and discussions. He further stated that it is last opportunity for the traders to get themselves registered with the tax department and participate in the development of the country.
