Balochistan Assembly passes resolution against drug smuggling

QUETTA: The lawmakers in Balochistan Assembly have unanimously passed a resolution, seeking effective and immediate measures to control drug smuggling.

The assembly session was held with Speaker Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani in chair. Pashtunkhawa Milli Awami Party’s MPA Abdul Majeed Achakzai tabled the resolution which reads that some of youth in the society had been addicted to narcotics.

“Career of our youth has been on the bank of devastation due to drug addiction,” it said, emphasising the need to take stern action to stop drug smuggling.

The resolution said the Anti-Narcotics Force should be made more effective to control smuggling of narcotics. It demanded the provincial government to approach the Centre for taking immediate and effective measures to control drug smuggling.

The Speaker put the resolution to the house which passed it unanimously.
