KARACHI: Chief Minister Balochistan Sanaullah Khan Zehri, addressing the closing ceremony of 15th Textile Asia, has said that his government is working on introducing tax-free industrial zones in the province.
“There are already some tax-zones, but due to the Pak-China Economic Corridor Balochistan has become a very important province,” he said.
He congratulated the organisers on holding such a mega fair, and noted that the textile industry was changing, as hundreds of people were joining it, which, he said, was a good sign. “One main reason for this is improved law and order situation of Pakistan,” he added. He also informed that his government was busy attracting the industrialists, who were not only being provided land but also other facilities.
All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association Chairman Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary, Rear Admiral Arif Hussaini, Commander Navy Fleet, Rear Admiral Waseem Akram, Commander, Karachi also graced the closing ceremony.
Being Pakistan’s biggest B2B textile, garment, embroidery, digital printing machinery, chemical and allied services trade fair, the three-day event was visited by more than 65,000 people, relating to the corporate sector.
While more than 550 international brands displayed their products at over 700 booths and over 500 foreign delegates from 27 countries, mainly from Austria, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Italy, Korea, Taiwan, Turkey, UK, USA and others went to the fair.
PRGMEA Central Chairman Sheikh Muhammad Shafiq thanked Government of Pakistan, especially the Ministry of Textile Industry and Ministry of Commerce for their all-out support that made it the most extravagant international textile and garments trade fair.
Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan President Dr Khursheed Nizam said on the occasion that 15th Textile Asia was the only UFI (Paris) approved trade fair in South Asia, and he was extremely thankful to all the national and international exhibitors, foreign delegates and trade visitors.
