DHAKA: Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard seized 75,000 pieces of Yaba tablets worth around Tk 37.5 million from on the Bay of Bengal near Inani coast of Cox’s bazaar on Wednesday.
Sources at the Coast Guard headquarters said a patrol team of the Coast Guard’s Cox’s Bazar station challenged a boat in Inani coastal area at around 5:00 am.
Sensing presence of the law enforcers, the suspected smugglers fled the scene leaving the boat on the coast. Searching the boat, the coast guards recovered 75,000 pieces of Yaba tablets. The Yaba consignment along with the boat was handed over to the authorities concerned, according to UNB.
