DHAKA: Customs officials of Shahjalal International Airport have recovered one kilogram of gold from a passenger returning from Malaysia.
Humayun Kabir flew in on a Malaysia Airlines flight and was detained while crossing the green channel of the airport around 1am on Thursday, Customs Intelligence Joint Commissioner Sohel Rahman said.
“During the search, we found the gold hidden in his shoes,” the customs official said adding that the gold was worth Tk 5 million in the market.
