DHAKA: Bangladesh Customs officials seized 120 gold bars weighing 14 kilograms worth of Tk 70 million at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport here the other day, an official said.
The Customs Intelligence Department official who preferred to be unnamed told Customs Today that they “seized 120 gold bars weighing 14 kilograms from inside a bus in the airport Cargo Hall at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.”
He said the gold bars worth about 70 million taka (897,435 U.S. dollars) were wrapped with cloths.
No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.
