Bank of Khyber vows to promote Islamic banking

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance Muzaffar has said that Islam is a complete code of life and our prosperity is in compliance of Islamic Code of Finances, our society can flourish only when we adopt that Islamic ways in our daily life.
He said this while speaking at the inaugurating ceremony of The Bank of Khyber (BOK) Raast Islamic Banking Branch at Takhat Bhai. Managing Director BOK Shams-ul-Qayyum, MPA Jamshid Khan Mohmand, Ex-MNA Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman, Group Heads and Divisional Heads from Head Office also attended the ceremony. Muzaffar Said also spoke on occasion that presently we need peace & unity which is the need of hour. The present Provincial Government gives policy guidelines on banking, finance, trade and investment and assured that the Government is committed for the well being of common man with its resources.

Muzaffar appreciated the efforts of the BOK Management and staff for the dedicated and devoted services for the significant growth in all operational areas of the BOK, which reflects their honest and sincere services to the masses across the country through BOK network.
The Managing Director BOK Muzaffar Said in his welcome address said that BOK is committed to cater the Banking requirements of Islamic Banking as well as conventional in a befitting manner in order to encourage the economic developmental activities in the region. Imran Samad said that Raast Islamic Banking of BOK has business friendly network in all major cities of the country.
We have increased our net-work by establishing 116 new branches by December 2014 and it will further enhance in 2015. He said that BOK has been serving Islamic Banking clients by providing them all Banking services through its net-work across the country successfully since 2003. He also mentioned that BOK Raast Islamic Banking is supervised by proper Shariah Compliant Committee as per State Bank of Pakistan’s rules.
In this regard Islamic Banking Group and full time Shariah Compliance Department is ensuring proper compliance of all Shariah rules. This is a prime responsibility of BOK to provide Shariah Compliance schemes which are now getting encouraging results from the clients. Muzaffar Said mentioned that BOK Raast Islamic Banking showed considerable growth in profit of Islamic Branches during the last few years.
