ISLAMABAD: In order to allay the misconception being caused by a segment of print media regarding freezing of bank accounts held by non-filers of income tax return, it is clarified that Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has not issued any such instructions.

In a press release issued by FBR, the board further clarified that income tax law does not restrict banking transactions out of bank accounts held by any person whether filer or non-filer.
