Banks to remain open on 27th, 29th, 30th to facilitate taxpayers

ISLAMABAD: On request from Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced to keep its designated branches and those of National Bank of Pakistan open on 27th, 29th, and 30th June 2015 to facilitate taxpayers in depositing their duty and taxes during the last few days of the current financial year.

The authorised branches of the SBP and National Bank of Pakistan will remain open on 27th June 2015 from 8:00am to 1:45pm for collection of duties and taxes. Similarly, authorised branches of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) will remain open till 8:00pm on June 29 (Monday) for collection of FBR taxes/duties and till 08:00pm for cheque collection and till 10:00pm for cash counters on June 30 (Tuesday) for government receipts and payments. Further, to facilitate tax payers, NBP branches will accept cash transactions at their counters till 10:00 pm on June 30, 2015.

The NBP branches will settle their transactions on June 30, 2015 with respective SBP BSC offices for which two special clearings will be arranged by NIFT i.e., 1st and 2nd clearing immediately after 3:00pm and 10:00pm. Banks have been further advised to open their related clearing branches on June 30, till such time that is necessary to facilitate special clearing by NIFT only for FBR collections.
