The R&D officials of MCC-Appraisement-East had arrested the suspect last week on secret information and presented him before the customs court for further legal proceedings.

The sources informed Customs Today that the R&D Section of MCC-Appraisement-East has succeeded in getting the judicial remand of the accused until March-16 for further investigation. The suspect is still in the custody of the customs authorities and the R&D team has started investigations.

Responding to a query, the sources confirmed that the arrested accused approached for protective bail from SHC.

They termed the arrest of Muhammad Ali Chandna, a major breakthrough into the investigation of the importation of banned antibiotics in the country.

“The R&D officials are investigating the case on every possible angle and trying to unveil the entire chain of the culprits involved in said case”, sources added.

Replying to another question, the sources claimed that the R&D officials have gotten some significant information during the investigation from the arrested accused and more disclosure into the case is likely to be expected in upcoming days.
