Reko Diq is part of the Tethyan Magmatic Arc, a region known for its substantial copper-gold ore deposits.

With production to begin in 2028, the Reko Diq project is expected to play a pivotal role in Pakistan’s economic landscape. It promises to create numerous job opportunities, attract investment in developmental programs, and drive economic growth in the Balochistan province.

The Reko Diq project is owned 50 percent by Barrick Gold, 25 percent by three federal government entities, and 25 percent by Balochistan. Pakistan has also offered Saudi Arabia the opportunity to acquire stakes in the precious mine.
