He was addressing an awareness conference on barter trade organized by the Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) here.

The conference was attended by traders, customs officers and members of QCCI.

The Additional Collector said that the new trade regime under SRO 642-1/2023 issued on June 01, 2023, had simplified the barter trade process and made it easier for the traders to do business.

He said that the barter trade would help to reduce the trade deficit between Pakistan and other countries, and would also help to promote regional economic integration.

He urged the traders to take full advantage of the new trade regime and to start barter trade with other countries.

President QCCI said that the barter trade would help to boost the economy of Balochistan and would also create new employment opportunities.

He said that the QCCI would provide all possible support to the traders to start barter trade with other countries.

The participants of the conference appreciated the efforts of the government for introducing the barter trade regime and said that it would help to promote business and economic activities in the region.

They also urged the government to provide more facilities to the traders to start barter trade with other countries.
