Belarus oil import 2.3% up in January-April

MINSK: In January-April 2016 Belarus imported 2.3% more crude oil from Russia in comparison with the same period of last year to 7.7 million tonnes, BelTA learned from the website of the National Statistics Committee of Belarus. In January-April 2016 Belarus bought $1.4 billion worth of oil, 73.6% of the sum Belarus paid for imported oil in January-April 2015.

Oil averaged at $185.7 per tonne, down from $258.2 per tonne in January-April 2015. Belarus imported 430,000 tonnes of oil products (nearly 90% up) worth a total of $126.5 million. Oil products averaged at $293.8 per tonne, down from $398.9 per tonne in January-April 2015.

In January-April 2016 Belarus exported 533,000 tonnes of oil (0.3% down from January-April 2015) to the tune of nearly $123.9 million (39% down). Apart from that, Belarus exported 6.142 million tonnes of oil products (1.3% up) worth $1.6 billion, down from $2.4 billion in January-April 2015.
