Belarus ready to develop manufacturing projects in Afghanistan

KABUL: Belarus is ready to launch joint manufacturing projects in Afghanistan and is ready to enter third-country markets. The ideas were discussed during the meeting of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Afghanistan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on 9 July, BelTA learned from Aide to the Belarus President Valery Brylev.

The official said that during the meeting the Afghanistan President outlined the domestic political situation in the country in detail and said that Afghanistan feels pressure both from the north and the west.

The Aide to the Belarus President said: “The country needs investments, cooperation development, needs to find new avenues for interaction. We would like Afghanistan to develop and will do everything to help the Afghan nation.”

The Afghanistan President stressed that people in his country know Belarusian vehicles well and intend to advance cooperation through further trade and the establishment of joint manufacturing ventures.

“We are ready to step up our presence,” said Valery Brylev. In his words, the heads of state have agreed to set up a special group that will work on the avenues of cooperation the sides are interested in, will find contact points, and will choose possible joint projects.
