Among continents, European countries accounted for the highest dollar value worth of flower bouquet exports during 2015 with shipments amounting to $3.6 billion or 46.4 per cent of global flower exports. Latin America (excluding Mexico) and Caribbean countries accounted for 27.8 per cent, followed by African exporters at 17.9 per cent, Asian suppliers at 6.3 per cent and North American sources at 1.4 per cent.

Sales to the United Kingdom went down by four per cent, making it the only top 10 country that showed a decrease. During the first quarter, there was still a slight one per cent growth for the English market, but they fell behind by one per cent in the second quarter and during the third quarter sales to the UK plummeted 5.5 per cent. This is partially caused by the fact that the exchange rate of the British pound dropped after Brexit.
