Belgium shares low at closing, BEL20 lost 0.42%

BRUSSELS: Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.42%.

The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 1.26% or 0.950 points to trade at 76.130 at the close. Meanwhile, Aperam (AS:APAM) added 0.60% or 0.28 points to end at 47.63 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was up 0.53% or 0.29 points to 55.45 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which fell 1.26% or 0.175 points to trade at 13.765 at the close. KBC (BR:KBC) declined 1.04% or 0.660 points to end at 62.770 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was down 0.82% or 0.300 points to 36.090.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 67 to 45 and 6 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.08% or 1.05 to $1248.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.17% or 0.08 to hit $47.78 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.03 to trade at $50.59 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.0809, while EUR/GBP rose 0.44% to 0.8650.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 99.44.
