According to her criminal complaint, Doss’ boyfriend, an inmate at RYOC, 1501 Albert St., had been testing positive, from urine tests, for recent marijuana use while incarcerated there. Investigating corrections personnel suspected that Doss, his girlfriend, had been bringing him drugs.

Tuesday, when Doss arrived at the institution for a visit with her boyfriend, Racine police were contacted to help with the investigation, the complaint states. A police officer took Doss aside to a private location and asked if she had anything with her she should not. The second time she was asked, Doss admitted she had marijuana with her and produced a small packet from under her shirt. The substance it contained later tested positive as marijuana.

The felony charge carries a potential penalties of up to 1.5 years behind bars, up to $10,000 fine or both. The defendant’s driving privileges can also be suspended for up to five years.

As of late Friday, Doss was not listed as a Racine County Jail inmate.
