Sydney : Two weeks ago, news came out that Joel Embiid would be on the cover of NBA Live 19, meaning he is the first Sixer ever to be on the cover of that video game series. Thursday, we found out that Ben Simmons will be on the cover of NBA 2K19, on copies sold in Australia and New Zealand. This is the first-ever Australian-specific cover of NBA 2K.

The cover is pretty dope, and he joins Allen Iverson as the only Sixer to be on the cover of NBA 2K.

“It’s a huge honor to be recognized on the first-ever Australian cover for NBA 2K and represent the 76ers,” Simmons told Basketball Australia.

“The Aussie fans are super passionate about basketball and specifically NBA 2K, so it’s very cool to be an ambassador for both.”

The cover, similar to the ones made for Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James this year, highlights words and accolades from Simmons’ short but already successful career.

With Embiid and Simmons on video game covers this year, it shows the global brand these two young stars are building and, with both having played only one season together, their star power will only grow as they achieve more on the court.

Copies are available on Sept. 11, but you may have to have a friend pick you up a copy or buy one off the internet to get your hands on this special edition.
