BEOE sends 268,343 Pakistanis abroad this year

ISLAMABAD: Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE) have sent some 268,343 workers to different countries for employment purpose this year.

According to BEOE source, total 1,904 engineers, 704 doctors, 72 nurses, 348 teachers, 1,567 accountants, 1,505 managers, 4,268 welders and 107 stenographers proceeded for overseas employment.

The others included 693 storekeepers, 9,478 persons in agriculture field, 3,407 clerks and typists, 3,342 supervisors, 20,738 masons, 11,229 carpenters, 9,760 electricians, 3,313 cooks, 7,562 plumbers and 3,985 waiters/bearers. A total of 9,271 steel fixers, 9,431 painters, 87,298 labourers, 12,939 technicians, 5,209 mechanics and 336 cable jointers, 33,655 drivers and 3,643 operators also proceeded abroad for employment. The workers who proceeded to other countries also included 2,700 tailors, 3,152 surveyors, 6,493 fitters, 1,532 denters, 1,080 computer analysts, 274 designers, 241 goldsmiths and 77 Pharmacists, 712 riggers, 4,642 salesmen, 1,202 draftsmen, 453 blacksmiths, five photographers, seven artists and others.
