NA Standing Committee on Commerce reviews TDAP’s performance

PESHAWAR: The Standing Committee of National Assembly on Commerce reviewed the performance of Trade and Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).

The meeting of standing committee for reviewing took place under Chairmanship of Siraj Muhammad Khan, Member National Assembly on Saturday

The committee also reviewed measures taken for promotion of trade and commerce activities in the province by the TDAP and the strategy chalked out by the SMEDA for achievement of the desired targets.

The committee urged the departments for promotion of trade and commerce activities in Khyber Pakthunkhwa, besides provision of opportunities of trade to women folk.

The solutions of problems related to dry port, Pak-Afghan Trade Chamber of Commerce, Expo Centre and promotion of trade activities at Peshawar came under discussion.

On this occasion, provision of better business and commerce facilities to women also came under consideration. Chairman of the Committee, Siraj Muhammad Khan underlined the need for utilizing all available resources for provision of better facilities especially to women folk to promote business, commerce and trade sectors in the province. He said promotion of trade activities will ensure jobs opportunities to youth besides improving the life style of people.

Members of the committee including MNAs Chaudhry Shahbaz Babar, Ch Asadur Rehman, Muhammad Pervez Malik, Wasim Akhtar Sheikh, Mian Muhammad Rashid, Tahira Aurangzaib, Zaib Jaffar,  Shahzadi Umarzadi Tiwana, Mian Javed Latif, Syed Ali Hassan Gilani, Mehrin Raza Bhutto, Shazia Marri, Mussarrat Zaib, Sajida Begium, Dr Fauzia Hameed, Shazra Mansab Ali, Federal Secretary for Commerce Arbab Shahzad, Secretary TDAP Rabia Chaudhry, Secretary Standing Committee on Commerce, Daud Nasim, CEO SMEDA Alamgir Chauhdry and KPCCI President Fawad Ishaq besides other high ranking officials, traders and industrialists attended.
