Bid foiled to smuggle 130 mobiles, 10 bottles of alcohol: Customs arrests Governor’s protocol officer

LAHORE: Pakistan Customs has arrested protocol officer of Punjab governor at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore when he was trying to help his friend smuggle mobile phones and bottles of alcohol through Green Channel.

According to airport officials, Naeem Sadiqi was coming from Abu Dhabi and Protocol Officer Rana Akhtar introduced him before Customs officials as guest of the governor. He was passing him through Green Channel which is used only for VIPs. Custom staff checked two bags of Naeem Sadiqi and recovered 130 mobile phones of different models and 10 bottles of alcohol.
