KARACHI: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations, ASO, has foiled an attempt to smuggle BOPP plastic while declaring it as “scrap”.
Sources told Customs Today that the ASO recovered a huge quantity of BOPP film rolls from the Export Processing Zone. Sources revealed that they received a credible information that BOPP film rolls are being smuggled declaring it as “scrap”. After receiving the tip they intercepted three vehicles in which they found BOPP film rolls which were described as “scrap” in the documents submitted to the Export Processing Zone. The total value of these film rolls is Rs 3.7 million.
Customs authorities seized the material and registered a case against the accused persons in this regard.
