ISLAMABAD: The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) is introducing a biometric payment system in the districts of Multan, Mianwali, Mirpurkhas and Sanghar.

The new payment system is to benefit those who already possess smart cards for drawing funds, it said. The programme warned BISP beneficiaries that their payments in the aforementioned districts might be delayed by as much as three weeks. However, the BISP said, it was ensuring that beneficiaries in these districts would start benefiting from new payment system by the middle of next month. BISP also apologised for the “short delay”.
