BKIAP collects Rs14.21m during July 2017-18 while it does Rs171.20m during whole FY2016-17

PESHAWAR: The customs staff of the Bacha Khan International Airport (BKIA) Peshawar earned Rs14.21million of All Duties and Taxes during July Financial Year (FY) 2017-18 while it did Rs171.20million of All Duties and Taxes during the whole corresponding year of 2016-17.

According to details given by Additional Deputy Collector Fazle Samad of Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Peshawar, the BKIA showed satisfactory revenue collection performance during July FY2017-18.

During said period, the BKIA received Rs4.92million of Customs Duty (CD) while it did Rs0.78million of miscellaneous taxes and surcharges.
During July FY17-18, the BKIA generated Rs0.10million of Redemption Duty (RD) on Imports whereas it did Rs4.05million of Sales Tax (ST). The BKIA got Rs0.62million of ST on imports while it did Rs3.74million of Additional Income Tax (AIT) during July FY2017-18.
Talking about the corresponding year of FY16-17, the BKIA collected Rs46.58million of CD whereas it did Rs19.07million of miscellaneous taxes and surcharges. And the BKIA earned Rs2.15million of RD on imports during FY16-17.
Samad told CT that, during FY16-17, the BKIA received Rs52.98million of ST while it did Rs5.98million of ST on imports. And BKIA generated revenue of Rs44.44million of AIT.
