BKIAP generates Rs18.425m in July than last year’s July’s Rs14.431m

PESHAWAR: The Bacha Khan International Airport Peshawar has collected Rs18.425million revenue during the month of July FY 2017-2018 which is more than the revenue collected in the month of July 2016-2017 which is Rs14.431millions. So the increase of profit is Rs4million more than last year.

The sources told Customs Today on Tuesday at the Customs House Peshawar that the BIAP generated Rs4.3 millions ST in said period while it did Rs5.65millions of Customs Duty.

In the month of July, AFU frustrated two attempts of smuggling of gold from Dubai into Peshawar and earned worth Rs3.2million.

The sources added that the BIAP got Rs171.20million during Financial Year FY2016-2017. Additional Deputy Collector Fazle Samad has lauded the performance of customs staff at the airport in the month of July 2017-2018, sources said.

He appreciated the efforts of the Customs Staff for aborting the bids to smuggle currencies, gold, silver and other goods which could be regarded as non-duty-paid items.

He remarked that the customs staff has been well equipped to trace any trafficking or presence of any illegal product. “It is very good to see that the customs officials are fully utilizing the resources to curb the menace of smuggling at the airport which results in earning extra revenue for the collectorate.
