WATERLOO: BlackBerry has temporarily suspended its BlackBerry 10.3.1 update on the Z10 and Q10 devices as a result of these latest issues.
BlackBerry 10 OS has been on the market for the past two years, and we continue to have the highest mobile HTML5 test score. We understand how important web browsing is to you, which is why we have always invested in giving you the best possible web browsing experience.
Z10 and Q10 owners have noted connectivity problems with their Wi-Fi and Bluetooth along with significant performance problems, from sluggishness to battery draining issues. There have also been many reports on forums with users complaining about overheating because of how the CPUs have been bogged down with requests which in turns makes the device very hot.
BlackBerry has already stated that a fix is in the pipelines and they are working as best they can to get it rolled out to its customers.
Those who haven’t updated their devices, may want to hold off for a moment until that fix is released. The new OS brings a lot of enhanced features such as BlackBerry Blend which allows a user to get notifications on their desktop or laptop, for emails to text messages instantly. And like Apple’s Siri, a personal voice assistant will go with you on your device, with the promise of making your user experience a more pleasant one.
With the bit of issues users are experiencing with performance and connectivity, there isn’t a fix now available to download. Holding off on the update for now, is the safest option for those without 10.3.1. There isn’t much in the form of details when a fix will be available, but expect one in the near future.
