BMW Motorrad reveals G 310 R motorcycle

LONDON: BMW Motorrad has revealed the G 310 R motorcycle. This is the company’s first sub-500 cc roadster. The bike has been developed in Germany and produced in India by TVS.

design of the bike is influenced by the larger 1000 R. It has a seat height of 785 mm.

Powering the G 310 R is a 313cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine that develops 34 BHP @ 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque @ 7,500 rpm. The cylinder is backward-tilted in open-deck design with the cylinder head turned by 180 degrees, making it possible to position the intake tract at the front, viewed in the direction of travel.

Stopping power comes from single 300 mm and 240 mm disc brakes at the front and rear respectively. The G310 R comes with ABS as standard. The bike rides on 110/70 R17 section tyres at the front and 150/60 R17 section tyres at rear.

The unladen weight of the G 310 R is 158.5 kg.
