BERLIN: BMW has updated its 3 Series sedans, wagons and Gran Turismo models by adding technology and cosmetic.
Announcing the upgrades, BMW Group Australia Head of Product and Market Planning Shawn Ticehurst, said: “Over the last 40 years, the BMW 3 Series has established itself as the most iconic model in our history.
“This enhanced BMW 3 Series line-up now stands as the most comprehensive update we’ve released on any range in recent times, with fresh inclusions as standard across a host of areas, including safety and technological innovations.
“This exceptional level of substance and value affirms the BMW 3 Series as a compelling proposition in anyone’s language.”
Sport and Luxury lines are now being offered as no-cost-options on the 316i Sedan, 318d Touring, 320i Sedan, Touring and GT, and 320d Sedan and GT.
Both the M Sport package and Luxury line now feature upgraded 19-inch alloy wheels, burled walnut and pearl gloss interior inlays.
Safety has been enhanced with the inclusion of a number ConnectedDrive Driver Assistance systems and functions across all models including Head-Up Display, Rear View Camera, Surround View with Top View and Side View, Lane Departure Warning, Pedestrian Warning with Light Braking Function and Approach Control Warning.
The BMW 3 Series driving experience has also been bolstered with the incorporation of Adaptive M Suspension in all models from the 320i/d Sedan and GT, and 318d Touring that includes lowered suspension by 10mm.
Aesthetically, Bi-Xenon Headlights and alloy wheels ranging from 17 to 19-inches have been added. Sports models get High-Gloss Black trims at the front, including kidney grille, rear bumper finisher, B pillar and tailpipe finisher in Black Chrome.
Inside, the upgrades include sport seats for driver and front passenger, sport leather steering wheel, black gloss interior trim and speedometer and rev counter with Red chronoscales.
Luxury line model upgrades get discreet chrome trims front and rear, including the trademark kidney grille, while the interior is enhanced with fine-wood Fineline Anthracite with Pearl Dark Gloss chrome highlights. Chrome Pearl Grey surrounds on the air conditioning and radio controls, ambient lights and window recesses in Chrome add to its premium sensibility.
Upgraded Individual and M Sport option packs are also available.
