ISLAMABAD: Telephone Industries of Pakistan (TIP) Board of Directors has asked the auditor general of Pakistan (AGP) to audit the accounts of the telephone industries of the last 10 years.

The decision was taken at TIP’s 185th BoD’s meeting, held under the chairpersonship of State Minister for IT & Telecom Anusha Rehman, a handout said. The board categorically stated that TIP had not been authorised to use their accounts for the payment of electricity and other utility bills of other entities and their employees. It directed TIP’s management to resolve all its outstanding financial issues with the management of PTCL and NRTC, amicably, and within 15 days.
