BOI Minister meets delegation of Sundar green SEZ

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Board of Investment (BOI), Mr. Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, held a meeting with Member National Assembly (MNA) Rana Muhammad Hayat, along with the managing team of Sundar Green Special Economic Zone (SEZ), including, Azeem Iftikhar, Chief Executive Officer; Muhammad Abid, Managing Director; and Rana Faisal Hayat, Director, at the BOI headquarters.

Secretary BOI, Mr. Jamil Qureshi, Additional Secretary Mr. Zulfiqar Ali, and other senior officials of the Board of Investment were also present during the meeting, said a release issued here on Tuesday.

The Federal Minister warmly welcomed the distinguished guests and appreciated their contributions towards industrial development in Pakistan.

The delegation thanked the Minister for taking out time for the meeting and for the continued support of BOI in facilitating investment initiatives.

During the meeting, matters related to Sundar Green SEZ were discussed in detail. The Minister and Secretary BOI appreciated the efforts of the management team in developing a modern and environmentally sustainable industrial zone, terming it a role model for other SEZs in the country.

Highlighting the importance of industrialisation, the Federal Minister underscored that Pakistan’s economic future lied in export-led growth. He cited successful industrial models, including China’s rapid economic transformation, as an example for Pakistan to follow.

He also referred to leading industrial ventures such as Challenge Fashion, emphasizing the critical role of manufacturing and exports in strengthening the national economy.

The Minister reiterated that the Government of Pakistan was fully committed to promoting investment and industrialisation through enabling policies and facilitation mechanisms. He emphasized that Special Economic Zones offer attractive incentives, including tax exemptions and ease of doing business, making them a key driver for economic growth.

“BOI remains committed to facilitating investors at every stage and ensuring that any challenges faced by businesses are promptly addressed,” the Minister stated.

Secretary BOI, Mr. Jamil Qureshi, also assured full institutional support. The Minister encouraged the delegation to share any recommendations or proposals for further improving the investment climate.

Both sides agreed that export-oriented industrial growth was the way forward for Pakistan’s sustainable economic development. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening collaboration and promoting SEZs as engines of economic progress.
