LORDSBURG: Federal officials say Border Patrol agents recently seized more than $1 million worth of marijuana in south western New Mexico.
KVIA-TV in El Paso reports that agents found the drugs after spotting a Ford F-350 driving from the Bootheel south of Lordsburg.
Authorities say Mexican national’s 27-year-old Luis Carlos Luna Marquez and 41-year-old Luis Arturo Enriquez Espinoza were arrested after attempting to flee.
Officials say agents searched the truck and found 1,607 pounds of marijuana, valued at more than $1.2 million.
Authorities say the truck was reported stolen out of Tucson, Arizona.
It was not known if the two men had attorneys.
