Brass biscuits confiscated for gold and released after chemical examination

MULTAN: The Model Customs Collectorate Multan has found seized gold biscuits of brass during its interrogation.

The Multan Customs authorities confiscated various gold biscuits of eight tola packed in a courier parcel coming from China to Multan. The customs team deputed at the General Post Office (GPO) impounded the gold biscuits hidden in a parcel.

The Customs Investigation and Prosecution Branch of Multan Customs has probed suspected owner Shahid Furqan for smuggling gold biscuits and found him innocent. During the investigation of Customs I & P, it was revealed that seized biscuits were imitation-gold and made of brass. Suspected Shahid Furqan purchased these brass biscuits from China through online shopping and wants to make artificial jewellery with the brass.

A forensic examination was also conducted by the customs authorities which determined the biscuits as of brass.
