TOKYO: In addition to an enhanced re-release this year, called Bravely Default: For the Sequel, users will also be getting a full blown sequel next year entitled Bravely Second.

The name of the first game actually came from a mechanic used in combat. Specifically the storing of battle points, called a “Default”, or the use of multiple attacks, known as a “Brave”.

This new trailer (shown below) displays the characters for the game, including the original artwork from Yoshida-san. It also more importantly gives the (Japanese) release date for the game, that of April 23rd. There will also be a special edition available at an increased price including a soundtrack, artbook and a figure of Agnes (among other things).

While there is no news of a Western release as yet, it’s likely based on the success of the first game. Hopefully users will hear an announcement to that end quite soon.
